Working beyond the limitations of culture or tradition, I create images using only my hands as tools.
My work translates the best human experiences that we share into fine art.
The qualities of the materials I use vary from opaque to translucent, and heavy to weightless, but all are lightfast and permanent. Some of these materials are natural– from the earth—and some are developed with the technology of our time. I burnish these pigments and minerals and metals into the surface of textured wood panels.
My work includes several series including capturing the feeling of moving through life “Without a Struggle”, “The Spaces Between Trees”, finding “Private Spaces in Public Places”, and the universal beauty of “Land, Sky, and Water”.
Many fun individuals as well as small and large corporations, have collected my work, including Hallmark Corporation, the University of Miami Lennar Medical Center, baseball hero George Brett, and NBC newscaster Stone Phillips.
